South West Regional Assembly

Dear Mrs Houlden,

I strongly object to any proposal to build new dwellings on green belt land in and around Corfe Mullen, Dorset. This countryside is an area of outstanding beauty, which includes no less than six SSSI sites. It supports a wide variety of flora and fauna and is enjoyed by Corfe Mullen residents and visitors. It is used extensively by horse riders, walkers and cyclists. It must be preserved for the benefit of all people, and for all future generations. Any development on this green belt will be extremely detrimental to the community. Once lost it will be lost forever!

Additionally, I object to proposals to substantially increase the number of dwellings within Corfe Mullen. The village is large, but it is still a village. The present infrastructure, roads and services are already stretched to the limit. Traffic, schools, doctors and dentists, crime and many other community factors will all be adversely affected by any additional housing development.

Please ensure that my objections are seriously considered against all development proposals.

I look forward to your confirmation that Corfe Mullen and the adjoining countryside are safe from this proposed development

Yours sincerely,
