This female Wolf Spider is actually only 10mm long but in close-up you can see the white eggsack she is carrying behind her. Soon the spiderlings will hatch and will all hitch a ride on her back for a couple of weeks. This one was photographed on the ground in my garden, sitting on a leaf in June 2008. |
